Training Services
I currently offer stock dog training for Border Collies.
I grew up around Border Collies, watching them work, working with them, and as I got older training them. I love the
Border Collie breed and enjoy working and spending time with them.
I start out with basic commands(Come Here, Lie Down,
Sit, and Stay). Following this, I introduce the dog to livestock. Currently, the only stock I have to train on
are goats. Here I use a round pen to teach them Come By (left) and Away to Me (right). Once they have mastered
this, I bring them into an open pen with the livestock and teach them to Bring Them, Walk Up, and Push Them. After they
have mastered all of these, the rest is just a lot of practice and a little fine tuning!
I will take in no more than two dogs at once.
Cost may vary somewhat based on the situation, the dog, and the owner's wishes. I either charge $10 per hour or $350
per month. If the dog is being fed the same dog food as my dogs, the boarding/feeding fee is .25-.50(depending on how
much they eat) per day. If they are fed a special or different food, the owner must provide this dog food and the
boarding/feeding fee is .75-1.00 per day. The owner is responsible for all costs (vet bills, pen repair, etc...) that
their dog incurs while at my facilities.
